Our Story

Autonomous electric vehicles since 2018

How Our Story Started

All of it started out when a small team of specialists started working together on a project.

The Beginning

Auve Tech’s prototype was created in 2018 and tested in various environments in different conditions.
At the beginning of summer 2020, Auve Tech started testing its Iseauto shuttle on public streets in Estonia. The pilot route connected Ülemiste City with Tallinn International Airport and a local shopping centre.

Auve Tech’s first project outside of Estonia was in Finland, followed soon by Lamia in Greece.

World’s firsts

In 2020, Auve Tech in cooperation with University of Tartu developed the world’s first hydrogen-powered autonomous vehicle.
Together with Skeleton Technologies, we made an autonomous shuttle drive on supercapacitors.

MiCa shuttle

MiCa, the successor to the well-received Iseauto, was launched in 2022. It quickly became the market leader in Japan in addition to wide adoption in Europe, Middle East and the US.

First Estonian car in Japan

In 2023, Auve Tech became the fiorst company in Estonia to deliver a car to Japan.
What started with one project expanded into Auve Tech being a market leader in Japan with multiple projects across the country.

USA

MiCa also made its way to the United States, where it was introduced in Florida.
In April 2024, West Palm Beach brought MiCa onto public roads, operating on a downtown route demonstrating safe autonomous travel in a busy urban environment.
In November 2025, Boca Raton launched MiCa in Mizner Park, offering rides between shops, restaurants, and cultural venues.

Together, these projects showed how MiCa could adapt to different cities and settings, proving that Estonian-built autonomous vehicles operate confidently and reliably on U.S. streets.

Abu Dhabi

In early 2024, MiCa began operating in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi. The operation in one of the world's leading innovation districts helps people move comfortably through the area.

The project shows how MiCa supports everyday mobility even in challenging climate conditions, adding another important chapter to its global journey.

MiCa 2.0, a new generation

In 2025, MiCa was significantly upgraded. Major improvements in autonomous capabilities are based on the newest version of Auve Stack 2.0 software featuring extensive use of machine learning and real-life data analysis.

The brand-new capabilities include AI-based dynamic reaction to objects, overtaking vehicle detection, side detection and much more. Updated vehicle functional design draws from real-life operating experiences in Japan, Europe, USA and Middle East, improving significantly both vehicle manufacturing processes and end-result quality.
MiCa 2.0 features both updated air conditioning and newest computer and software as standard.

MiCa, an autonomous shuttle, is operating in Tallinn Airport to transport personnel and cargo

Tallinn Airport and remote monitoring

What began as a pilot project in 2023 with Magnetic MRO and Tallinn Airport has evolved into a real-world example of autonomous mobility at work in 2026.
Today, multiple MiCa shuttles operate in the airport's airside area, transporting staff, parts, and equipment without an onboard safety operator.
Supervised remotely, with one operator monitoring multiple vehciles from our monitoring center at the airport, the fleet demonstrates that autonomous transport can perform safely and reliably even in one of the most demanding operational environments.
